"My nightmare. It stooped there, hairless and naked,
mottled gray-black skin hanging off its frame in loose folds, its eyes collared
in dripping putrefaction, legs bowed and feet clubbed and hands gnarled into
useless claws every part looking withered and wasted like a body of an impossibly
old man". (Riggs 294).
I choose this quote because it has lots of detail and is
very eerie. Ransom Riggs the author of the book chooses unique wording in this quote
like you could picture the creature right there. The quote is important to the
plot because the plot is based around the peculiar children and this shows why
they live where they are to hide from creatures like this and is a very
important part in the book. Also this creature could be the creature that killed Jacob the protaganist in the book's grandfather. Because when they talked about the antagonist they
never really described them. The author used imagery to show the antagonist of
the story I think this is one of the best ways to show the antagonist. What
drew me to this quote was how descriptive and original and how you can picture
it in your head so clearly.
