Literacy Blog #7

The new book I am reading My Year with Eleanor by Noelle Hancock. This book reminds me of the television show called “Fear Factor”. The two are similar by how the book and television show both are based on people’s fears. My Year with Eleanor is about a Woman who lives in New York and gets lade of her job as a blogger. When she is in a coffee shop she sees on quote by Eleanor Roosevelt "Do one thing every day that scares you". So the year before her thirtieth birthday she does something that scares her every day for a year. This book talks about her conquering her fears just like “Fear Factors” does with each round you do a series of challenges but at the end of it you can win lots of money. The difference between the book and the movie is that the woman Noelle in the book is doing this for a year and the show is only for a couple of days. Another difference is that the book is talking about how this is affecting the woman’s live and how she learns and gets stronger by doing this. The show is about just about how the people doing the challenges  and how they react and what the challenges consist of. Also another difference is how Noelle choses what she will face and sometime it choses her these fears are meant for her to become less afraid and “Fear Factor” is when the challenges are not chosen by the contestant  and they might not be afraid  of the challenge like others.
